New Reception Intake September 2024

We have been advised that Admissions will be offering school places to parents on Tuesday 16th April 2024. Once you have received this offer and accepted it with Admissions then you can apply (by email only) for the SMILES sessions you require.

The Club is extremely popular. Places are allocated on a strict first come first served basis and are filled very quickly. Please apply as soon as possible, but unfortunately we are not able to accept applications until you have received and accepted your offer with Admissions.

How to Apply
Please email our SMILES Manager Mrs Francesca Berry - smilesclub@welearn365.com - providing the following information:

  1. Child's full name
  2. Date of birth
  3. Child's current year group and class name. For children starting school in Reception in September 2024 please provide the date that you accepted a place at our school with Admissions service.
  4. Parent's full name
  5. Sessions required
We are currently fully booked but you can still apply to go on our waiting list if you wish.

Once offered a place at SMILES,  our new Reception children start attending the club once they are in school full time.

Currently, any sessions your child is booked in for are automatically retained each year including when they transition to the Junior School. However, please note that in order to free up places for younger pupils, from September 2024 SMILES will no longer cater for Year 5 and 6 pupils at Breakfast Club.

Drop off: from 7.45am at the main SMILES door at Telford Infant School. Please use the school pedestrian gate to access the school.
Breakfast:  Children enjoy a healthy choice of toast, crumpets, muffins and a variety of fresh fruits.

Children are taken by our playworkers either to their Infant School classroom or directly to the Junior School for the start of the school day at 8.55am.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUB is open to children from across the Telford Infant and Junior Schools. The Infant School children remain on the Infant site while the Junior children make use of the rooms the club rents on the Junior School site.

Infant children are collected from their classrooms and escorted to the hall.

Junior children make their way to the school hall at the end of the school day where they are met by SMILES staff and escorted to the classrooms used by SMILES on the Junior site.

Some of the session is also spent out on the playground (or field in the summer) weather permitting.

Children are provided with a cold, nutritious snack. This varies throughout the week but usually consists of wraps or bread with some type of meat (or vegetarian/vegan equivalent), cheese and a range of fresh fruits and salad. This is purely a snack and is not intended to replace an evening meal at home.

We are a nut free school, and children with allergies, intolerances and lifestyle or religious choices are catered for.
